Meet Our Coaches!
Coach Amanda
Amanda has been lucky to be around horses since birth. She started grooming horses once she could stand and riding once there was a helmet small enough to fit her head! After riding informally for a few years, she moved to King Equestrian Centre at age 6 where she started competing on her medium pony in the hunter ring. Throughout her childhood she has ridden and competed in various disciplines including hunters, jumpers, dressage, western pleasure and polo.
As a coach, Amanda pushes her students to be confident and competent riders in and out of the saddle. Amanda focuses on creating partnerships where the students and horses learn to work together and develop through the levels.
Amanda cannot pick a favourite schoolie as she loves them all so much, but two of her favourites at RCRA are Sammy and Alfie.

Coach Carolyn
Coach Carolyn has been teaching equestrians for 25 years. She focuses on developing a solid foundation for balance and understanding horse behaviour to build confidence and have fun. She has competed in eventing, dressage, hunter-jumper, and hunter paces in Canada and the US. She is an Equestrian Canada certified Instructor and a Licensed Coach. She learned good horsemanship from the Canadian Pony Club while growing up and obtained her B Level. She owns three horses; Foxy, a Canadian Sport Horse gelding, Peanut, the Miniature horse, and Ruby, a Welsh pony filly.
It’s difficult to choose a favourite schoolie at RCRA because they're all fantastic! Eli would probably be a favourite because Carolyn has a soft spot for ponies and it is so fun watching young riders learning to ride on him. He is very entertaining with his mischievous pony tricks, especially knocking the cones down on purpose.

Coach Sandra
Sandra has been passionate about horses since she was seven.
After her first riding lesson, she fell in love with riding and everything horse related. Through this journey she has ridden in the disciplines of dressage, show jumping, cross-country jumping, fox hunting and hacking/trail riding. BHS (British Horse Society) qualified and with various other certifications in natural horsemanship, horse psychology and horse nutrition, she incorporates this experience and knowledge into her riding lessons. Teaching students of varying levels, her focus is always on the progression of skills for each individual student. Sandra is devoted to developing her students to their full potential, while being mindful of time-frames for personal goals to be achieved. Sandra loves to create an informal, fun and friendly environment where students feedback is valued and encouraged.
Sandra's favourite schoolie is Midas because he is the best at teaching beginners how to steer, trot and has the perfect canter to learn to canter on!

Coach Stephanie
Coach Stephanie has over 20 years of horse experience. She brings competitive experience from eventing, dressage, show jumping and hunters with a wealth of theoretical and practical stable management knowledge. She teaches all levels of students ensuring proper skill development in a positive environment while taking into consideration the student as an individual. She enjoys developing exercises that safely push students outside their comfort zone, that help build the confidence and perseverance needed to excel in riding.
Her favorite school horse is Shadow because he is safe and reliable for the development of fundamental skills but still requires the riders to commit to a plan.
