Activities
Stable Management
Learn different horse breeds, colours, markings, types of equipment, build jumping courses, and more!
Nature Walks
We are lucky enough to back on to a beautiful forest with hours of groomed walking trails!
Arts & Crafts
Take a short break from the horses and cool down indoors for a fun arts and crafts activity.
Our goal:
Our goal at the RCRA is to introduce the students to riding and the care of horses and to continue to enhance those skills. Our standards are aligned with the Ontario Equestrian Association and our riding lesson programs cater to a wide range of students and abilities/disciplines. If you want to ride competitively, recreationally, or therapeutically we will help you to meet your goals.
Group Custom Camps
Anyone wanting to come in for a custom equestrian program is welcome. Our office would be happy to set up a consultation to discuss your riding goals.
Our facility and staff can accommodate working towards any riding goal whether it be professional certification, showing, improving as a rider or (our favorite) having fun enjoying the animals, and spending time riding.
In all Camps
Our camp content is designed to fit around the level and age of the groups that are formed. The following is an example of some content campers can look forward to covering and is modified according to the lesson at the time.
“Bridle Wars” – Can you bridle any horse, anytime, anywhere with confidence, safety, and skill? If not then you have something to learn from this fun game!
“Track Wraps” – Everyone knows that it’s the race track folks that can polo, bandage, and boot horses like no one else! This is a stable management day you won’t find anywhere else!
What to bring
SAFETY APPROVED RIDING HELMET
SAFETY APPROVED RIDING HELMET. Helmets must be properly fitted and must meet A.S.T.M. standards. Rental helmets are available from us and we can assist in fitting.
SAFETY APPROVED, PROTECTIVE RIDING VEST. Vests must meet A.S.T.M. or B.E.T.A. safety standards and must be properly fitted. While this is currently not mandatory, we highly recommend it for any riders under the age of eighteen.
Boots that are at least above ankle length with a low heel, flat sole, and no steel toes.
Long trousers that are stretchy or roomy enough to allow flexibility.
Jodhpurs, breeches and riding boots are, of course, desirable but not mandatory.
FOOD and SNACKS
Most of our camps at RCRA include a meal program, as indicated in each camp’s registration form. However, we recommend that each camper is sent with lots of drinking water and light snack weather they are on the meal program or not.
Please advise us if your child has any allergies.
